I love the idea offered by express-o (and inspired by another) ...sort of reminds me of my 20s for some reason, when I used to think about things in these terms.
Then I started thinking about it, and yesterday's "I love school!" comment was up there because what parent does not want to hear that their child loves the place they spend almost if not more time than they spend at home? I love his school, too, and think we're very lucky.
The other thing that makes me happy are Avery's drawings....as seen here.
Avery's been drawing up a storm lately. He's like one of those sketch artists that does croquies (not sure how to spell that)...those really quick figure drawings. He just whips them out one after the other in succession, very quickly. I love them and feel like we could start a comic or frame them for the holidays.... IN fact...
Standing around in 30 degree weather at our lovely friend opened presents and everyone champagne toasted to old friends, new friends, and life... What I love about this photo, though, is that we are all laughing, but it doesn't seem like AT something, just ... laughing!
We went to the MOMA and Avery was just looking up in the air and was so delighted. I love the hands adding emphasis to the "I am just so happy I could pop!" expression.
Ok, so we are really not this prepared yet. The tree IS up, and it's this tree, but I haven not started warapping and truth be told, have little this year in the way of gifts. We are trying to 'cut back' and only really focus on the kids...which is fun! But I just love gift giving so not sure how well this will work.
This is at Sashee's and might be my favorite little drawing yet by Avery. He has food in his belly! See? Isn't that just so awesome. I love the open arms and the huge smile, too...you know, if I were to go and try to interpret this drawing or something....
