Avery Quote

I love my little brother. He's like a jelly bean and I am like a pickle!

Paris in the 60s

My husband saw this and wondered why my mom was wearing an apron out in Paris.  I think the fabric is kinda groovy, though.  And my dad's white denim suit?  Oh so classic.   I told my mom that she still looks exactly the same from this distance, and she replied, "Yes, from a distance, like the other room!"     Hilarious AND stylish, my mom.

What makes you happy today?

I love the idea offered by express-o  (and inspired by another) ...sort of reminds me of my 20s for some reason, when I used to think about things in these terms.

Then I started thinking about it, and yesterday's "I love school!" comment was up there because what parent does not want to hear that their child loves the place they spend almost if not more time than they spend at home?   I love his school, too, and think we're very lucky.

The other thing that makes me happy are Avery's drawings....as seen here.
Avery's been drawing up a storm lately.  He's like one of those sketch artists that does croquies (not sure how to spell that)...those really quick figure drawings.  He just whips them out one after the other in succession, very quickly.  I love them and feel like we could start a comic or frame them for the holidays.... IN fact...

Inspired by 70s Momwear Again

I love that blog mymomstyleicon.com.   The 60s-70s (and early 80s) were certainly a fab time in fashion.   I love this outfit, though it is a little girly.   I just like the black and white checks, high-waisted black skirt...even the hairdo is pretty hip.  I would modify with a more open shirt and high suede boots.

I kinda love my white tights, too...

November Butterflies

We were in the park the other day and an a butterfly just landed on Avery.  I am not sure this is a good sign, pretty sure it isn't (but no need to elaborate to a four year old!)   Anyway, it was pretty spectacular.  We sent this video to his teacher.  Friday, during sharing time, it was projected onto a big screen and Avery got to tell his friends all about it.
